Title Goes Here
Sorry about the color of this page. I'm experimenting and, I guess, that makes you one of my guinea pigs.
I worked only about 6 hours of overtime last week. Our department/metrology lab got rearraanged due to a Kaizen event. If you aren't familiar with a Kaizen event, ask me about it in a few weeks. I don't have too much positive to say...it's quite disruptive and we inspectors will not recover soon.
Going to dinner at the Kingfisher on Wednesday night. They've got a summer road trip going on. This week is the Deep South. For a peek at the menu, follow this link: http://www.kingfisherbarandgrill.com/roadtrip.htm.
Bon appetit!!

I Am Always Surprised By...
Profane bumper stickers...Barry Bonds and Michael Jackson apologists...the number of people in Wal-Mart at 3 a.m...players swinging on a 3 and 0 count...my absolute inability to get along with certain types of people...my epic ability to eat incredible amounts of ice cream...to be continued.

Everytime You Go Away You Take A Piece of Me With You
In My Life
There are places I remember
All my life, though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places had their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all
But of all these friends and lovers
there is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
In my life I love you more
There are places I remember
All my life, though some have changed
Some forever not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places had their moments

We All Agree, Anything but Rap!
Worked 12 1/2 hours of overtime last week. It wasn't a bit painful and the check is gonna look nice...espcially after a couple months of being unemployed. Our office/lab area is a laid back area to work and everyone works pretty hard.
There are four guys in the office and me. We're all about the same age, well, w/in ten years or so. The cool thing is that we all agree on music. We listen to everything from classical to Pink Floyd to jazz standards to Barry Manilow to classic country. I'm amazed that we all are very agreeable when it comes to music. Okay, I admit I'm not that agreeable about music, but they're playing music I like, so I'm quite agreeable at this point!

Trying Hard to Hear Myself
Okay, I admit it, it's a huge struggle for me. It's not that I don't care. There really is no good excuse...is there ever a 'good' excuse...ya, I guess there is. Anyhoo... I'm lousy at keeping in touch w/ friends and family. This is an attempt to give them a place to catch up with what's going on with me.
I am currently working a temporary job at Ventana Medical Systems (www.ventanamedical.com). Go to the site when you get a chance. The product is interesting and the photo of the building gives you an idea of how beautiful the area is.
I'm working in Metrology (recieving inspection) and I enjoy it quite a bit. It's not Quality Standard Conformance work, which is something I feel I'm quite good at, but it's manufacturing work and I'm headed in the right direction.
What direction is that, Karen? Well, I'd like to get a permanent position in manufacturing and get back to making a nice, consistent wage. A new car would be nice, still driving an '84 Honda Civic. A new place to live would be nice, too, if only to get the Beagle I've been wanting for a few years now. I'm not complaining...I'm content, maybe too content w/ where I'm living and what I'm driving, but I am looking to the future, which, if you've known me for awhile, you know that's something fairly new for me.
As for my cats, Hobee and Mandy...they're great and I appreciate those of you who ask about them, especially those of you whom I know don't like cats much...thanks for asking.
By the way...if you leave comments, which you are encouraged to do, please note that they are public and can be read by anyone and everyone.
